About this reference

The Heuer Skipper reference 7754, produced briefly around 1968, is the first dedicated sailing chronograph from the brand. Collectors prioritize this reference for its specific case and movement configuration, featuring a 36mm stainless steel Carrera-style case with faceted lugs and a modified manual-wind Valjoux 7730 caliber. The movement is altered to include a 15-minute countdown register, distinguished by a tri-color sub-dial with mint green, dark blue, and orange segments. Due to its extremely limited production run, estimated at fewer than 300 units, it is among the rarest vintage Heuer models. On the secondary market, prices typically fall within the $50,000 to $100,000 range depending on condition. A notable auction result occurred in 2017 when a well-preserved example sold for over $80,000. This reference is often called the "Skipperera" to distinguish it from later, larger-cased versions using Autavia or compressor cases.
