About this reference

The Cartier Dual-Time Tonneau reference 087-91 was produced during the early 1990s as part of the Collection Privée Cartier Paris (CPCP) precursor era. This 18k yellow gold model features a curved, elongated case measuring approximately 26mm by 46mm, housing two independent mechanical movements. Unlike modern dual-time watches using a single caliber with a GMT complication, the 087-91 utilizes two manual-wind Caliber 2512 movements, each controlled by its own crown on the right side of the case. The dial typically features traditional guilloché engraving, Roman numerals, and two separate sub-dials for tracking different time zones. Collectors value this reference for its mechanical eccentricity and its role in reviving Cartier’s historical shapes. On the secondary market, these pieces generally trade between $25,000 and $40,000. A notable variant includes the "Paris" signed dial versions, which often command a premium at international auctions.
