About this reference
The IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “SFTI” (Reference IW389104) was released in 2020 as a limited production of 1,500 units and is currently discontinued. This reference is valued for its technical construction, featuring a 44.5mm matte black zirconium oxide ceramic case and Ceratanium pushers and case back, a material combining the lightness of titanium with the scratch resistance of ceramic. It utilizes the in-house caliber 69380, a column-wheel chronograph movement with a 46-hour power reserve. The dial is distinguished by a tactical matte black finish with a red small seconds hand shaped like a jet. This civilian version is derived from the "Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor" watch exclusively available to TOPGUN graduates. On the secondary market, prices typically range between $8,000 and $11,000. It remains a key piece for collectors due to its direct lineage to military-exclusive equipment and the specific use of proprietary materials.
