About this reference

The MB&F Horological Machine No. 5 (HM5) RT, reference 55.RTL.B, was released in 2013 as a limited edition of 66 pieces. This reference features an outer case constructed from 18k red gold and grade 5 titanium, housing an internal water-resistant engine container. The movement is a Girard-Perregaux based caliber modified by Jean-François Mojon and Vincent Boucard, featuring a 22k gold battle-axe rotor and a jumping hour mechanism. Time is displayed via bi-directional jumping hours and minutes on sapphire crystal discs, which are projected 90 degrees vertically through an optical grade sapphire prism. The case design includes functional louvers operated by a slide to allow light to charge the Super-LumiNova on the discs. On the secondary market, this reference typically trades between $55,000 and $75,000. It followed the original 2012 zirconium version and preceded the final CarbonMacrolon edition, marking a significant material evolution in the HM5 series.
