About this reference

The Panerai Radiomir Platinum PAM00021 was released in 1997 as the first Special Edition produced under Vendôme (Richemont) ownership. Limited to 60 units, this reference features a 47mm platinum cushion case with wire lugs and a screw-down crown. It is powered by a refurbished vintage Rolex Caliber 618 manual-wind movement, the same caliber used in original 1930s and 1940s Radiomir models. The dial is a tobacco brown "sandwich" construction with luminous indices and hands. Due to its historical movement and status as the first modern Panerai precious metal reissue, it is a foundational piece for brand collectors. On the secondary market, the PAM00021 typically commands prices in the low-to-mid six-figure range. A notable auction result occurred in 2023 when an example sold for approximately $125,000, though prices fluctuate based on the presence of the original oversized wooden presentation box and parchment documentation.
